Do wireless hearing aids pose a health risk?

In this post I am writting about a concern I hear from my customers very often regarding the wireless connectivity and the exposure to radiation signals.

Hearing aids are placed on or inside your ear all day long. So, do they pose  a health risk ?

The short answer is no.

Let me demystify this concern that most of my customers have when they are about to get their first wireless hearing aid.

First of all  wireless hearing aids are strictly regulated as FDA class 2 medical devices that meet the wireless FCC communication standards. Secondly if we compare the RF signal power of a cell phone which is about 2 Watts compared to the RF signal of a hearing aid device which is 0.0025 Watts,  we clearly see  that  the radio frequency energy emitted by a hearing aid  is extremely low .

If we want to get into more detail , the low RF signal from a hearing aid is a non-Ionizing radiation which relatively speaking is  much lower and safer than holding a cell phone to your ear. RF energy is a type of non-ionizing radiation. Non-ionizing radiation is not strong enough to directly affect the structure of atoms or damage your DNA.

Therefore if you are a hearing aid user or planning to purchase your first wireless hearing aid , there is no reason to be concerned about the RF anymore. If you liked this article, please consider subscribing to my newsletter. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer.
